Lots going on this weekend! 6/3-6/6 | June 3, 2010

What to do this Thursday?  Dance!  Old Oakland host a free music festival the 1st and 3rd thursday of each month from today thru August!  Great Latin beats to be heard.  Great people watching too because real dancers are always found at these events.  http://www.mybart.org/events/?evt=281

6/4 First Friday, the gold cup of free and fun.  Oakland has Art Murmur this friday.  Great music, art and sometimes free food too!  Fun to be had at these gallery’s http://oaklandartmurmur.com/

6/5 Saturday: Grand Ave/Lakeshore farmers market.  Lots happening in Berkeley…Chocolate & Chalk festival 10am-5pm www.chocolateandchalkart.com.  World Music Festival and Crafts Fair, you know you’ll see some of what makes Berkeley – Bezerkeley at this fest,  12pm-9pm both in Peoples Park and surrounding cafe’s.  www.berkeleyworldmusic.org.  Berkeley Poetry Festival 1pm-6pm in front of Cody’s Bookstore.  They will even have open Mic if you want to try your chops.

I know you’ve driven by it a thousand times but have you ever visited Hercules?  Of course when I say it I sound like Eddie Murphy in that movie where he’s 18 characters and they’re all fat.  Hercules Hercules (hands clapping).  The City of Hercules is host a two-day Cultural Festival from 10am-7pm Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sunday, that’s a lot of Culture and all for Free.  Visit the Cities website for an event schedule http://www.ci.hercules.ca.us/index.aspx?page=395

6/6Sunday: Oakland Museum is Free the first Sunday of the month, go visit and view the millions of dollars of renovations at this Oakland gem.  Jack London Square farmers market, the best farmers market and great view too! The 7th annual, how is it I haven’t been to one, Temescal Street Fair is happening.  12pm-6pm lots of fun to be had with free music and fashion show.  This up and coming district of Oakland has a lot going on this summer so look for most information here and on this blog.  http://www.temescaldistrict.org/events.html

  1. Hey there…just a thought, maybe make the dates bold or larger so that the viewer can just scan through to find something they’d like on that particular day? Right now, I think it’s a lot of overwhelming text. Great concept for a blog! I’m already a fan! 😀

    Also, I’m a graphic designer. If you want, I’d love to design a logo/header for you! 😀
